Australian Army Tank Museum

Located in Hopkins Barracks, Puckapunyal the Australian Army Tank Museum houses the finest collection of Australian armoured fighting vehicles in the world. In excess of 80 armoured vehicles and anti-tank weapons make up this collection of Australian military history plus memorabilia from the Australian Light Horse period, uniforms and military weapons.

Enviromental (Enviro) Walking Track
You can walk a purpose build envionmental track within Puckapunyal. The track covers three distinct environmental areas and includes play pits, bike, walking and running trails and interpretation boards to educate the community on the flora and fauna of the local area.

 

Area Pool
Defence personnel and dependants holding a Defence identity card or a pool tag are authorised to access the Area Pool. The following conditions apply:

  • Patrons are to sign-in and sign-out.
  • Children under 5 years of age are to have active supervision by a parent or guardian. Active supervision means the person providing the supervision is in the pool with the child and is within arms reach.
  • Children 5 to 10 years of age are to be supervised by a person not less than 16 years of age. Supervision means that the child is being watched and a lifeguard alerted.
  • Children 10 to 16 years of age are required to be supervised by a person no less that 16 years of age (unless they have successfully completed the swim test and produce their pool tag on entry).
Children 10 to 16 years of age are required to complete a swim test conducted by a Physical Training Instructor (PTI). On successful completion of the swim test the child will be issued a pool tag by the PTI which must be produced prior to being permitted unaccompanied entry. Appointments for swim tests are to be booked through the Puckapunyal Fitness Centre (PFC) on 5735 7602/5735 7752.

 

Area Gym
Defence personnel and dependants are authorised to access to the Gym Complex. The following conditions apply to entry:

  • Patrons are to sign-in and sign-out.
  • Patrons under the age of 16 are not permitted access to the cardio, weight or sauna rooms.
  • Patrons using the cardio, weight or sauna room are to be familiar with all relevant equipment before using.
  • Patrons behaving in an unacceptable manner may be or be removed from the Pool/Gym Complex.

The cardio and weight rooms and sauna are out of bounds to dependants under 16 years of age.
