Puckapunyal is an army training base in Central Victoria. Seymour is the closet town to Puckapunyal (10kms) and it contains many services for those living in or around Puckapunyal. Seymour is 1 hour from Melbourne, 96km, at the junction of the Hume and Goulburn Valley Highways. Seymour has four supermarkets, a variety of shops, two post offices, two iconic fast food chains, cafes, restaurants, takeaway, major banks and much more.
Buses operate within Seymour, as well as between the town and surrounding areas. Nearly all places within Puckapunyal are easy to access on foot or by a bicycle and it is only a ten minute drive to Seymour.
